The republican scientific-practical conference titled "Current problems of cybersecurity and digital forensics" was held under the joint organization of the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service (SSS), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (ACOA).
AZERTAC reports that, speaking at the event, Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of ANAS and Director General of the Institute of Information Technology, highlighted that digitalization, innovation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity have been identified as key priorities for the country's future development. In his speech, Academician R. Alguliyev emphasized that under the direct leadership and special attention of President Ilham Aliyev, digital transformation in public administration has deepened, increasing the strategic importance of this field. He further pointed out that workforce training is supported by scientific potential, and consistent, purposeful measures are being implemented to ensure cyber sovereignty.
Touching upon the strategic role of digital technologies in national security and economic resilience, Ziyafat Asgarov, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, noted that developing modern curricula in higher education institutions is a requirement of the era. He also highlighted that the conference will make a significant contribution to cooperation.
Yashar Amashov, First Deputy Head of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, underscored that preventing cybercrime and ensuring the reliable protection of critical information infrastructure remain top priorities for state security.
Elshad Nasirov, Head of the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service, spoke about the new cyber risks created by innovative solutions. He explained that properly obtaining digital evidence plays a decisive role in solving crimes.
The event also featured speeches by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, Head of the SSS National Cybersecurity Center Davud Rustamov, Deputy Rector of the National Defense University Arif Hasanov, ACOA Executive Director Rauf Jabbarov, and Azerbaijan Internet Forum President Osman Gunduz. The speakers emphasized the necessity of joint efforts between scientific and educational institutions and relevant government agencies to protect state information systems and combat digital crime in the face of growing cyber threats.
