The Institute of Information Technology and the "Azerbaijan" newspaper have held a joint conference aimed at developing cooperation between science and the media.
Speaking at the event, Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of ANAS and Director General of the institute, discussed the activities of the organization he leads and its pivotal role in the country's digital development.
Bakhtiyar Sadigov, the editor-in-chief of the "Azerbaijan" newspaper, stated that the organization of such intellectual platforms holds particular importance in the modern era. According to him, the digital development strategy implemented by President Ilham Aliyev defines the technological future of Azerbaijan.
At the conference, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov, Executive Director of the institute and PhD in Technical Sciences, discussed network-communication sovereignty, the resilience of national digital infrastructure, and the significance of the Trans-Caspian Digital Corridor. He further emphasized the strategic role of national cloud and supercomputer initiatives in this context.
Professor Masuma Mammadova, Corresponding Member of ANAS, explained the concepts of digital health and Health 4.0, noting the role of artificial intelligence in diagnostics and medical decision-making.
Professor Ramiz Aliguliyev, Corresponding Member of ANAS and Doctor of Technical Sciences, discussed the essence of data sovereignty, stating that it is a fundamental prerequisite for national security and cyber sovereignty.
Associate Professor Tofiq Kazimov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, provided information on the development stages of software engineering, the identification of this field as a national priority, and the expansion of personnel training.
Associate Professor Ramiz Shikhaliyev, PhD in Technical Sciences, discussed current threats in the field of cybersecurity, state policy, and the implementation of defense mechanisms based on artificial intelligence.
Associate Professor Farhad Yusifov, PhD in Technical Sciences, highlighted digital government models, the role of artificial intelligence in governance, and the development directions of citizen-oriented services.
Babak Nabiyev, PhD in Technical Sciences, spoke about the development of the AzScienceNet network, international cooperation, and the integration of Azerbaijan into the European research area.
