Theft of confidential data from organizations increased in 2014, reads a study conducted by Zecurion.
The Internet has become the most common channel for data loss (26.7%), analysts say. Moreover, the number of leaks via email and flashcards is steadily declining - by the end of 2014 and was 7.8 and 6.1%, respectively.
Hackers often have access to confidential data of retailers (17.8%), state organizations (16.8%) and medical facilities (16.5%).
The total damage caused by the data leakage in 2014 amounted to $ 17.782 billion, in 2013, this amount was significantly more: $ 25.11 billion. The average loss of each leak amounted to $ 25,510,000.
