European Bank for Reconstruction and Development "Azerbaijan contributes to the improvement of ICT quality of in the Caucasus"

The projects in the field of Information-telecommunication and communication technologies (ICT) contribute to the improvement of the quality of ICT in the Caucasus, writes Transition Report 2014, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

According to the report, the special attention was mainly paid to the improvement of the infrastructure by 2010, consequently, the communication networks have been converted into digital files, and capacity of external internet channels have been increased.

A number of initiatives have been implemented in recent years in the field of ICT: "In 2011 “E-government "portal has been launched, which includes services of 40 government agencies". In 2009-2011, the volume of public and private investments deposited in ICT sector increased by more than twice", the report writes.
