The da Vinci 5D printer prints both a three-dimensional object and a regular photo

At CES-2020, Taiwanese company XYZ Printing introduced the da Vinci Color 5D desktop FDM 3D printer. 5D in its name, the developers define as "3D + 2D."

The new device, with advanced laser engraving and 3D color printing features, continues the da Vinci Color Mini and da Vinci Color AiO (All-in-One) 3D printers with integrated 3D scanner and laser engraver.

Da Vinci Color 5D not only grows and paints three-dimensional plastic objects, but also prints ordinary “flat” photographs. An important feature of the device is the ability to switch the extruder to laser engraving on leather, cardboard and plastic.

According to techcult.ru, the printer can print objects of size 230 x 180 x 180 mm at a speed of 180 mm / sec in layers from 100 to 400 microns. The device works with filaments with a diameter of 1.75 mm.

The start of sales of da Vinci Color 5D is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020 at a price of $ 3999.
