JBL announces wireless headphones with an “eternal” battery

One of the few drawbacks of modern wireless headphones is the need for periodic recharging. Some models also support traditional wired connection, but JBL developers have announced an even more original alternative to such “hybrids”. A feature of the Bluetooth headset called Reflect Eternal has become the ability to dispense not only without sockets and wires but also without any chargers.

The novelty with 40 mm drivers and a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz is equipped with a solar panel built into the headband. This allows the headphones to charge during the day, even under artificial lighting. According to the manufacturer, one and a half hours on the street is enough for 68 hours of music playback, and if you spend 2.5 hours a day outdoors, external charging may never be necessary.

As with other devices based on solar cells, charging using artificial light or indirect sunlight will be slower, but JBL notes that the technology was developed taking into account the absorption of reflected light of low intensity. The design also provides for a traditional USB socket, 15 minutes of recharging through which will provide 2 hours of headphones in playback mode.

According to 4pda.ru, Reflect Eternal headphones with Bluetooth 5.0 module have a built-in microphone for working in headset mode, support working with Google voice assistant and TalkThru and Ambient Aware technologies for listening to the surrounding space. Users will also be able to quickly switch between different Bluetooth devices.

The headphone supply is scheduled for October 2020.
