In Russia, developed a high-speed drone for the delivery of heavy loads

The National Technology Initiative (NTI) announced the release date for a new generation of drones capable of transporting loads of up to 80 kilograms over long distances. The drone will develop an impressive flight speed without fear of even strong gusts of wind.

According to the RIA Novosti publication, the Aerokso engineers announced their readiness to complete the design work to create a drone in accordance with all the requirements of a potential customer. Then ground and flight tests of the “flying heavy truck” will be conducted.

“The developer of the UAV company Aerokso intends to begin mass production of new items in 2022. The ERA-300 cargo unmanned aerial vehicle will be able to carry 80 kilograms of cargo and fly at a speed of up to 180 kilometers per hour. The drone will be able to deliver goods in difficult weather conditions, due to its high resistance to wind. The estimated speed of the ERA-300 cargo drone is more than 150 kilometers per hour, and the range is more than 270 kilometers, ”the NTI representatives noted.

The developers are confident that cargo drones will be able to replace light helicopters and will find application in the oil and gas sector, where about 60% of cargo deliveries fall on the share of aircraft. It is planned to use drones to deliver mail.

ERA-300 will be able to deliver goods to areas that are difficult to access for ordinary transport, as well as to oil rigs or offshore facilities. Large companies, according to the source, have already expressed interest in aircraft, the power unit of which does not require diesel fuel.
