International exhibition and conference ITU Telecom World 2019 continues

The international exhibition and conference ITU Telecom World 2019, held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is going on.

Within the framework of the event, a meeting of ministers for information and communication technologies of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) took place.

At a meeting preceding the CCTS Summit to be held in Azerbaijan, officials from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the current situation in the field of ICT. The sides also exchanged views on the future perspectives of ICT related directions.

It is to be recalled that Azerbaijan at the ITU Telecom World, which will last until September 12, is represented by a delegation of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. The delegation includes representatives of the bodies of the ministry, private ICT companies and startups.

Azerbaijan is represented at the exhibition by the national pavilion, which demonstrates the country’s achievements in the domestic ICT sector, innovative services, applications and solutions.

In particular, the cloud provider AZCLOUD at the Data Center of AzInTelecom LLC presented a number of cloud solutions at the exhibition. The visitors were provided with detailed information about such products as security solutions TrendMicro and Deep Security and reservation service VEEAM using the software as a service model.

In addition, the young programmers participating in the exhibition were informed about the Azcloud Hackathon social project of AzInTelecom LLC. They were also invited to participate in the Azcloud Hackhathon 2020 contest, which will be held in Baku in the third quarter of next year.

The Innovation Agency is participating in the exhibition with four startups (Virtual Surgery, Kuleko, Wexplain, Vriendly), which are displayed in the national pavilion of Azerbaijan. These startups are also taking part in the Global SME Award.

Moreover, the Innovation Agency has also informed exhibitors about its activities, new programs, grants, exchange programs, the Business Incubation and Acceleration Center, work carried out in regions, as well as about successful startups and projects.

At the exhibition, discussions are going on opportunities for cooperation with foreign companies, the issues of attracting foreign startups, projects and investors to Azerbaijan, the opportunities and procedures created for them.

The Data Processing Center (DPC) is also presenting its projects to the visitors of the international exhibition. The DPC stand aroused great interest among participants.

To provide more information about the products on display, the visitors are also provided with catalogs written in English.

Within the framework of the event, Azerbaijan’s national telecommunications operator Aztelekom and several international operators are exchanging views on cooperation. In parallel, negotiations are underway with manufacturing companies on the introduction of new technologies in regions, and presentations are being held.

Azercell is also represented by a stand in the National Pavilion of our country. The company  familiarizes the exhibition participants with the new brand identity and digitalization strategy, achievements in expanding the 4G network across the country, as well as a wide range of innovative services offered to businesses and individual users.

It should be noted that the international event organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is being held under the motto “Innovating together: connectivity that matters.” The main theme of the ITU Telecom World 2019 is to expand cooperation between governments and organizations with the view of improving the lives of people through digital technologies.
