Workshop on "Law and Digitalization" held

A workshop on “Law and Digitalization” was held at ADA University.

At the event, professors and students of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Tallinn Technical University, ADA University, Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan made presentations.

Department head of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Azizov said in his speech that today digitalization process covers all spheres of our lives. In our country, work is underway to form a digital economy, build a digital government, and develop information society. We can accelerate the diversification of the country’s economy through the introduction of innovations and high technologies. That is why this is an important task that the President of the country has set before the government and is one of the main priorities of state policy.

The representative of the ministry said that this process requires legal regulation. It is not just the adoption of relevant rules. The main issue is training of personnel.

“Today’s event brought together lawyers working in the public and scientific fields. This is an opportunity to establish a dialogue, intensify the digitalization process in Azerbaijan, create a valuable platform that brings science and practice together. These goals are the priorities of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies,” –  Rashad Azizov emphasized.

The event featured informative presentations made by local and international experts, as well as professors and teachers of famous European universities on the legal regulation of high technologies, information law in the digital age, harmonization of digital markets, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, as well as the exceptional importance of cybersecurity in this area. In addition, during the workshop, there was an exchange of views on the creation of a Digital Law Lab in our country.
