Participants of International Olympiad in Informatic svisit Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum

Participants of the International Olympiad in Informatics  (IOI 2019) on August 7 visited the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and the Icheri Sheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve.

They were informed at the National Carpet Museum that there are more than 13,300 exhibits in the exhibition halls and museum fund. The museum presents valuable exhibits and works of art from Guba, Gabala, Shirvan, Gazakh, Tabriz, Yerevan, Ganja, Sheki and other cities and regions.

It was noted that in November 2010, “the traditional Azerbaijani art of carpet weaving” was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.

Acquaintance with the city of Baku continued at the Icheri Sheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve. Participants in the Olympiad were informed about the walls and historical and architectural monuments. The guests got acquainted with the Maiden Tower and other monuments.
