Security technologies in Grid systems analyzed

The next scientific seminar of the Department No.4 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. Opening the event, Deputy Director for Technology, Ph.D., Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov said that the seminar focuses on security technologies analysis in grid systems.

Samad Dursunov, an employee of the department, delivered a presentation on the Globus Toolkit, UNICORE, and gLite software platforms used in grid systems. The speaker spoke about the security standards used in the grid systems, pointing out that it includes Kerberos, TLS (Transport Layer Security), PKIX (Public Key Infrastructure), CMS (Cryptographic Message Syntax), GSS-API (Generic Security Service API).

He noted that the Kerberos standard provides a one-off authorization and flexible protection of transmitted information, TLS accuracy, completeness and confidentiality of information.

S. Dursunov gave information about the advantages of direct access to GSI, proxy certificates, examples of large-scale distributed computing, GSI features, etc.
