On February 19, the Tusi-Bohm Planetarium hosted an event "Supermoon" dedicated to March 27 - Science Day.
Young researchers of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS attended the event, organized by the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasiraddin Tusi and Tusi-Bohm Planetarium.
Director of the planetarium, researcher of the Observatory Famil Mustafa gave information about the measures taken in recent years to increase the influence of science in our country and stimulate scientific activity.
It is no coincidence that the name of the event is "Supermoon", he noted. The February full moon is a Supermoon which means the full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth during its monthly elliptical orbit. As a result, it will appear much bigger and brighter in the sky than usual.
Later, Head of Department of Planets and minor celestial bodies Adalat Atai delivered a presentation on astronomy.
At the end of the event documentary film about travel to space was displayed.
