A mini version of the famous robot Sophia may soon be on sale. The company Hanson Robotics, which created the robot, for three days on Kickstarter collected half the amount needed for the mass production of the "younger sister" Sofia.
The developers have equipped the little Sophia with a body like a traditional robot. Her head, like the “older sister,” is human-like and devoid of hair. There is no “skin” on the back of the head: there is a small window there. Through it, the details and mechanisms with which the robotic apparatus is equipped are visible. The height of the invention reaches only 36 centimeters, which makes it look like a real child.
Robot-child is able to move, perform dance moves, navigate in space, memorize faces, keep up the conversation and even tell funny stories.
Also, mini-Sofia will help children learn robotics and programming. Owners of a robotic device can write programs for it in the Blockly and Python languages,
Using the technology of augmented reality, children will be able to try on the device masks, clothes and accessories from the Snapchat mobile application.
The robot can be bought for $ 149. Such devices can enter the market in 2019.
Now Hanson Robotics has launched a campaign on Kickstarter and is raising money for the mass-making of little Sofia. For three days, developers managed to attract more than half of the required amount. 57 days left until the end of the campaign.
