Tranings on “Practical engineering and leadership” was organized in Shamakhy on the initiative of Shamakhy Region Executive Authority, co-organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Azerbaijan Academy of Robotics Engineering (AREA). Students, pupils and teaching staff of educational institutions of the region attended the presentation ceremony held at Shamakhy Art Education Center.

Speaking at the event, head of the Department of Innovative Development of the Information Society and Electronic Governance of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Azizov  said that events have been held in Baku within the framework of the project  “Robopark”, and for the first time in the regions such a training is being organized in Shamakhy.

UNDP project manager Vasif Mammadov noted that the knowledge gained by young people in the field of modern technologies will play an important role in their further training.

It is planned to organize trainings in robotics, drone technology, complex coding, informatics and programming within the framework of relevant trainings.

Speaking at the event, experts from Azerbaijan Academy of Robotics Engineering gave detailed information on the projects implemented by the Academy. It was noted that the trainings will cover children aged 8-16.

It was informed that the training “I’m a Pilot” (study drones, their assembling and testing) will last for 4 months and will enable pupils aged 8-12 to learn drone technologies and allow them to have fun.

The duration of the AREAduino trainings (complex coding, working with Arduino platform and Internet of Things) is 6 months. Thus, parents can also join this training together with their children. Everyone at the age of 13- 35 can participate in the trainings. It should be noted that the training is conducted in different age groups.

During all these trainings, various intellectual games and contests will also be organized for participants.

Shamakhy schoolchildren were also informed about the “Japanese Engineering (GENESIS)” program, which is being taught in three directions for children aged 8-13. It was informed that the program consists of modules developed on the basis of Japanese technology educational system. This includes teaching 3D technologies.

Participants simply learn to design robotic and technological products using basic design tools. A 7-month teaching process helps participants to find their own creative solutions and develop their practical skills.

Within the framework of the workshop, various interesting presentations were made on “Japanese engineering”, “Drones” and “AREAduino” by trainers. Distance learning on “Programming and Coding” was organized at the Shamakhy branch of the Information and Communication Technologies Applying and Training Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. It was noted that the students who regularly participate in these workshops will have the opportunity to train younger children in their regions in the said directions after gaining certain knowledge and will be actively involved in relevant activities in the future.
