China has developed a folding spider robot that can be controlled remotely

Hong Kong-based Robugtix has introduced a versatile arachnid robot that can stack, climb stairs, and perform other tasks. The development was called Z6.

Externally, the device looks like a real spider. The robot has six “paws”. They are placed on the "body" of the apparatus, which is a rectangular block. Spider-robot can be folded. Thanks to this ability, it is reduced by half. When folded, the device can fit even in a backpack or handbag.

Z6 can move on steps and bypass obstacles. If the robot spider for some reason turns over, it will return to its original position on its own. If the device needs to go through a narrow passage, it can easily cope with this task. Also, robotic spider can carry light loads.

You can control the robot at a distance. This will require a remote with a screen. The developers believe that thanks to this feature Z6 can be used during rescue missions, in the course of research or for observation. The robot spider moves at a speed of 30 cm / s. It runs on battery. The battery life depends on which tasks the Z6 will perform. The developers claim that during the test battery charge lasted an average of 60 minutes.

The Z6 is powered by Bigfoot Robotics Engine Pro software. The robot is equipped with a built-in camera that allows you to capture what is happening and transmit video to the owner of the device in real time. An accelerometer and a gyroscope are also built into the robotic spider. The sensors were located in the “paws” of the device.

The developers have published a video on the network, which demonstrated the capabilities of the robot spider. They showed how the device moves on a flat surface and moves in steps. Also on the video you can see how the Z6 performs with its limbs movements similar to dance.
