Gray parrot Rocco learned to use Alexa and now orders himself a cookie on the Internet

The African gray parrot nicknamed Rocco was already on the news - the previous owner taught the bird such surprisingly nasty verbal turns that they shocked even experienced journalists. The foul-mouthed parrot in vain had to be taken to a shelter, where for a long time they could not find new owners. And now Rocco has distinguished himself once again by learning how to command Alexa voice assistant.

The current owner of Rocco, Marion Wisniewski, is grateful to Alexa developers for the “parental control” function. Only this saved her from spontaneous spending, when one day the parrot turned to the gadget and, imitating Marion's voice, ordered fruits and snacks in an online store. Watermelon, ice cream, broccoli, raisins, strawberries and a teapot in the appendage - the hostess does not exclude that the feathered shopaholic had spoken more, but the robot did not recognize all orders. Now she has a paranoid, but good habit - to read Alexa reports for the day and cancel many of the commands from Rocco.

Marion has no doubt that the parrot acted deliberately, and not just amused. Alexa voice control in reality turned out to be much more efficient than the developers had expected. And although the parrot is not a man, the hostess constantly observes how he orders the robot to turn on the music. And then he clarifies: “music about love”. And Alexa regularly performs the commands, and then they nicely “talk” with Rocco, exchanging phrases that sometimes take the form of a very strange dialogue.

A talented parrot has long realized that in the absence of people in the house this electronic device can be a good entertainment. According to Alexa reports, he activates it, purposefully ordering to turn on and do something, at least 40 times a day.
