Next scientific seminar of department №4 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. An employee of the Department Samed Dursunov presented a report on "Analysis of security technologies in Grid systems."
He spoke about the security standards used in the grid systems, including Kerberos, TLS (Transport Layer Security), PKIX (Public key infrastructure) and so on. He noted that Kerberos provides unilateral authorization and flexible protection of transmitted information, TLS provides accuracy, completeness and confidentiality of information. PKIX is the ITU-T standard for open-source and privilege management infrastructure.
The speaker talked about the requirements for distributed computing environment to security systems. He said that these requirements include the possibility of registering users, transferring rights, and integrating local security systems with reliability.
He also informed about the Grid Security Infrastructure (GSI). He said that GSI is a set of tools, libraries and protocols used in the Globus Toolkit that allow users and applications to safely access resources. In the GSI system, each user must use the X.509 certificate and the private key to authenticate with the network.
S.Dursunov gave information about advantages of getting one-time access to GSI, proxy certificate, large-scale distributed computing example, GSI features and so on.
Finally, discussions were held around the report, and questions were answered.
