ICAO will develop safety rules for drones flying at low altitudes

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will develop general rules for the safe flight of unmanned aerial vehicles at low altitudes, Tass reports.

"The massive use of drones will become a reality for us in the near future, and in order for their use to be safe and effective, ICAO began the advisory work required to develop guidance material on the organization of low-level air traffic of national unmanned aerial systems (BAS)," organization.

It is expected that in September 2018 a conference on the auspices of ICAO will be organized in Chengdu, China. "Attention will be paid to studying new solutions together with experts and inventors to ensure global coordination of the development of BAS activities and to safely integrate the air traffic management system into existing standard air traffic management systems," ICAO said.
