The new technology of surveillance will establish the person on a gait

Scientists from China have developed a new technology for biometric identification, capable of establishing a person's gait - even if his face is hidden. To operate the system only a camera is needed, located not more than 50 meters from the target, writes Ecns.cn.

The development is based on a unique "figure" gait, including rhythm, speed and other features of movement. As the researcher of the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Huang Yongzhen says, the new technology works ten times faster and further than iris scanners.

The recognition speed does not exceed 200 milliseconds - it's faster than a person can blink (300-400 ms). According to the scientist, the algorithm is able to identify up to a thousand people on an area of 1000 square meters. m., which also allows you to use it to calculate the number of inhabitants of densely populated cities.
Biometric identification systems are introduced throughout China everywhere. At the crossroads in four cities of the country, cameras are installed that detect pedestrians who violate the rules of traffic, and in Beijing's public park they help to fight the kidnappers of toilet paper.

The system of face recognition helped to detain 25 wanted Chinese at the beer festival.
