Chips in snakes give charmers licence

For the first time in the country, rice-sized microchips were injected into 31 snakes in the capital on Monday as part of Delhi government's initiative to give licences to snake charmers. The exercise was undertaken by Delhi government's department of wildlife and forests. Once micro-chipping is done, only these snakes will enjoy legal sanction as the profession has otherwise been banned…
