Azerbaijan to host International Olympiad in İnformatics in 2019

Head of Statistics and Forecasting Department of the Ministry of Education Ismayil Sadigov  informed about this  at the meeting of Scientific Board of the Institute of Information Technology.

In order to host IOI in 2019, the ‘’Intention letter” of the  Minister of Education by the name of  Azerbaijan government was introduced  to  The International Committee. Thus, after presentation of Azerbaijan, it has been decided that,  Azerbaijan will host the competition  in 2019.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual competitive programming  for secondary school students. The first IOI was held in 1989 in Pravetz,Bulgaria.

Next year, the IOI will for the first time be held in Kazan, Tatarstan at Kazan Federal University. Iran will host the 2017th Olympiad, and in 2018 Japan will welcome IOI.
