Information security is becoming an integral part of national security in the global environment. This is associated with the increasing role of information in all spheres of human activity, as well as, the transformation of social processes and relations to digital, virtual environment.
Head of “Internet studies problems” sector of the Institute of Information Technology Rasim Mahmudov spoke about this on subject “Transformation of journalism to Information age and its role in the dialogue among civilizations” in the “round table” within the framework of V Baku Humanitarian Forum. He made a report on subject “New media and information security problems” in the panel dedicated to “The role of journalism in the provision of intercultural, interreligious and inter civilization dialogue’’. Today, process of formation and development of information and communication technologies (ICT) all over the world, especially, global digital environment and virtual relations with the influence of Internet are going on, he noted.
According to him, Media sector is one of the main chains of Information society and information economy. ICT, also, role of media in information society with the help of Internet and mobile telephones, development tendencies, sphere of influence are increased.
National boundaries of the global media environment do not exist, therefore, political and legal aspects of the provision of information psychological-security assumes a great deal importance, Rasim Mahmudov noted. The expanse of social media audience increases information-psychological influence on people. In such circumstances, children and adolescents are the main targets. It is important to carry out effective cooperation between education institutions and parents, head of sector.
The role of human factor is solvent in the provision of information security, he highlighted. Features of a new media requires knowledge related to information security from the journalist of information society.
Also, the president of Telam National News Agency of Argentina Rodolfo Pousa, director-general of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov, Director–general of Public TV and Radio Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic Ilimbek Karıpbekov, slovakian journalist, collaborator of “International Habitat for Humanity” organization Catherine Bezgacina, former President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipovic and others attended the event.
