A live connection was established via AzScienceNet Science Network (SCN) between the Distant Education Centre of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS and the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS for the first time to hold discussions on various aspects of computer science. Nakhchivan State University and Ganja Department of ANAS also joined the connection. Director of the institute, academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev opened the videoconference and greeted attendants on behalf of the management of the Academy.
E-science aims at increasing the efficiency of scientific institutions and building unique online scientific infrastructure in the country, academician said. As a result, the joint performance of research institutions and scientists having access to scientific and technical information and computing resources is provided in the virtual space. At present, the development of e-science in the republic, particularly in the regions, promoting the education system in line with international standards, the usage of information and communication technologies (ICT) in healthcare, economy and other fields are priority.
Finally, the academician congratulated the academic and scientific community on the occasion of the launch of the Distant Education Center of Nakhchivan Department and wished them success in their future endeavors.
Afterwards, chairman of Nakhchivan Department of ANAS, academician Ismayil Hajiyev highly appreciated the creation of the Center in terms of international cooperation with the world's leading research institutes and universities. He thanked the members of the Presidium of ANAS and the employees of the department for their support.
