According to the decisions of the Board of Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 06, dated 25 October 2002, No. 17, dated December 16, 2002, and decisions of the Presidium of ANAS, No. 2/5 dated January 15, 2003, the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS is entrusted to hold regular courses and doctoral examinations in Computer science for doctoral and PhD students from all educational and research institutions.

• In accordance with the decisions, since March 1, 2003, Training Innovation Center of the institute conducts the courses in Computer science for doctoral and PhD students.
• The courses are conducted according to the training program approved by the Presidium of ANAS, Ministry of Education and Higher Attestation Commission under the President of AR;
• All data related to post-graduates (letters, forms, test protocols, and so on.) are stored in the database of "Training Innovation Center". These data enable to conduct analysis of the training of human resources;
• Examinations are taken online;
• Examination results are reported the Presidium of ANAS and the Higher Attestation Commission.

Examination and course schedule

Doctoral examinations in "Computer science" are carried out in the following terms:

• January 5 – January 30;
• April 15 - April 30;
• June 15 - July 15;
• October 15 -  October 30.
• Doctoral and PhD students willing to pass the exam shall take courses held at the Training Innovation Center;
• Doctoral and PhD students, who had taken previous sessions of the course but failed an exam or had dissatisfied grade may pass exam without taking courses;
• Examinations held in April and October are intended for doctoral and PhD students on the eve of defense.

The courses in computer science doctoral and PhD students last 3 months, 1 month and 15 days depending on their knowledge level:

Class duration is 90 minutes, 3 ​​times a week: 1 lecture, and 2 practical classes;

Classes are conducted in English and Russian languages.

Required documents and registration

To attend the courses and to pass the exams in Computer science the doctoral and PhD students shall register at the Training Innovation Center of the Institute of Information Technology. The registration procedure is as follows:

• An official letter shall be submitted to the head of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS by the management of research and educational institutions. (Letter - Sample)
• The doctoral and PhD students mentioned in the letter shall fill in the questionnaire presented by the Training Innovation Center;
• In addition to the survey, 1 3x4 colored photo is required;

The courses in Computer science for the doctoral and PhD students are paid, in order to strengthen the logistics of the Center, and to provide the teachers and other personnel involved in the courses with the salaries. Tuition fee is transferred to the bank account of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS by academic institutions or by doctoral and PhD students.
