On May 22, 2015, the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS hosted an event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Control Systems. Foreign guests, government officials, members of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences of ANAS, scientists and experts of higher education institutions of the republic, and mass media representatives attended the meeting.

The President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh opened the event and congratulated the participants of the event's on the 50^th anniversary. The academician highly appreciated the contribution of the institute to the mathematical modeling of technological processes, and to the solution of theoretical and practical problems of control systems and information and telecommunication systems. The institute has played an important role in the development of real control and management systems in various sectors of the economy of Azerbaijan, and became one of the leading research institutions of the academy.

Later, Director of the Institute of Control Systems, academician Telman Aliyev  spoke about the institute (Institute of Cybernetics), which was founded in 1965. The main scientific direction of the institute is the high performance of researches of strategic importance, he noted.

State Student Admission Commission chairman Maleyka Abbaszadeh made a speech and spoke about her scientific activity, which started at ICS. She was proud of being a progeny of this institute, she noted. The human resources of SSAC includes the former employees of the institute, which is the main achievements of the successful operation of the organization, she added.

Acting as the Gold Partner of the event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union, the 134 anniversary of the establishment of telephone communications and the 50th anniversary of ICS of ANAS is the prove of the fact that Azerbaijan is one of the countries, which is famous not only for its oil, but and the scientific and technological potential, the Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of AR Elmir Valizadeh mentioned in his speech.

At the end, a short film about the 50-year history of the Institute of Control Systems was shown.

Rector of Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, deputy, prof. Gulchohra Mammadova, president of the Academy of Sciences of the Arctic, prof. Valery Mitko, Lomonosov Moscow State University professor Nikolay Filimonov, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Head of Software Department Bakhtiar Sirajov, Turkey Dokuz Eylul University Dean Efendi Nasibov and others made speeches.

After the event, the foreign guests got acquainted with the exhibition hall and research laboratories of the Institute of Control Systems.
