Institute of Information Technology and Institute of Linguistics after I.Nasimi held a joint seminar dedicated to the International Mother Language Day.

Director of the Institute of Information Technology, National Academy of Sciences, Academician-Secretary, academician Rasim Alguliyev and director of the Institute of Linguistics, academician Tofig Hajiyev made speeches and stressed the importance of 21 February - International Mother Language Day confirmed by UNESCO.

Head of the Department of Computer linguistics of the Institute of Linguistics, Dr. Kamila Valiyeva made a speech on the major problems of computer linguistics, its establishment history, and formation stages.

Senior research fellow of the Institute of Linguistics PhD in philology Rasim Heydarov spoke about automatic recognition of dialects, establishment of noise resistant, credible system of recognition with few errors.

Chief sector of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS Afruz Qurbanova touched the formation and development of terminological informatics, and international experience in the field of terminology, international standards, and the factors which require a new approach to terminology, and gave detailed information about trends.

Research fellow of the Institute of Linguistics, PhD Yedgar Jafarov made a speech on "Onomastic information: Realities and Prospects", which became the subject of extensive research since the 40s of the last century.

PhD student of the institute Sabina Mammadzadeh made a presentation on "Transliteration: state-of-the-art, problems and prospects" and gave detailed information about the establishment history of transliteration, transliteration of the books, names and surnames, toponyms, correct spelling of foreign names in foreign passports, relevance of the search in the Internet, protection of national identity. She spoke on the importance of transliteration in the virtual space, foreign experience in this field, referring to the transliteration standards adopted by the various states, and presented converting tables.

PhD student of the institute Lyudmila Sukhostat talked about speech technologies, and stressed that speech is a complex signal generated as a result of a number of changes that occurred in semantic, linguistic, articulation and acoustic levels.
