Bronze medalist of InfoMatrix 2018 presented a new robot February 08, 2020 | 10:49 / Important events

On February 7, the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS held a meeting with the students who have qualified for the final stage of the IX Republican Competition "Scientists of Future".

One of the projects on computer science for the IX Republican competition "Scientists of Future"  within the framework of the ISEF International Science and Engineering Exhibition will be held on February 11-13 was a Plant Disease & Cause Detection using Deep Learning that small and medium-sized businesses could use in farming developed by Ruslan Bayramov, the 11th-grade student at Zarifa Aliyeva High School.

Controlled by a mobile phone or being self-controlled, the robot recognizes 14 plants and is capable of investigating 38 diseases and causes of infection.

Speaking about the purpose of making this robot, Bayramov said that small and medium-sized businesses pay for the majority of the world's nutritional needs. The main challenges these farmers face are the various diseases and pests that are transmitted to crops in the field. Therefore, the teenager has decided to work on the plant Disease & Cause Detection using Deep Learning.

Grade 11 student Ruslan Bayramov noted that he also used a 3D printer to design a robot.

Note that the scientific supervisor of Plant Disease & Cause Detection using Deep Learning is  Ph.D. Yadigar Imamverdiyev, Associate Professor.

Speaking at the event, Vice-President of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Rasim Alguliyev reminded that R. Bayramov was the captain of our national team representing our country at the First Global Challenge2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. More than 1,500 young participants from 191 countries demonstrated their robots designed to clean up wastes and pollution at an international event called "Ocean Opportunities."

He was awarded a bronze medal at the International Computer Projects InfoMatrix 2018, a year before the international competition in Dubai. He has also achieved success at the GoldenByte 2018 international competition in Kyiv, Ukraine, and other international competitions on robotics and programming.

At the end of the meeting with the students who won the final round of the IX Republican competition "Scientists of tomorrow" academician Rasim Alguliyev wished the students success in the competition. He wished them success in their future lives, education and careers.
