On September 25, a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) was held. Opening the meeting, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Academician Akif Alizadeh presented the anniversary medal “100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918-2018)” to ANAS Vice President, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, Academician Rasim Alguliyev. Other vice presidents of ANAS - academicians Ibrahim Guliyev, Tofig Nagiyev, Dilgam Tagiyev and Irada Huseynova, as well as Doctor of Historical Sciences Solmaz Rustamova-Tohidi were also awarded the same medal. 

Recall that the provision on the anniversary medal “100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918-2018)” was approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on May 1, 2018.

Citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic, foreigners and stateless persons are awarded with the jubilee medal “100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918-2018)” for special merits in studying and promoting the heritage of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, preserving and developing state independence of the Azerbaijan Republic, in public and political life Republic of Azerbaijan.

At today's meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, academic secretary of the Department of Social Sciences, academician Nargiz Akhundova, academician Nizami Jafarov and corresponding member of ANAS Ali Nuriyevwere awarded ANAS diplomas. In addition, memorial signs of ANAS and diplomas of the professor of ANAS were presented.
