A new robot surgeon can independently operate on the heart April 30, 2019 | 10:00 / Technological innovations

The staff of the Boston Children's Hospital presented a system with an autonomous catheter, which is independently located in the body, reducing the likelihood of medical and technical errors to nothing. As noted by The Daily Mail, the navigation system has already been successfully tested on pigs (the accuracy is the same as if the operation was performed by a person).

In the future, thanks to this system, it will be possible to carry out most operations without human intervention. To date, surgeon robots do not have high accuracy. In the States alone, robots are associated with at least 144 deaths. The new robotic system is different in that it constantly monitors what is happening. The robot literally sees through the camera and sensors (act like antennae in insects).

Sensory environmental information is collected in real time and compared with a database of images (they were saved after other similar operations). This helps the robot correctly recognize its location.
