In Britain, installed automatic machines for recycling smartphones April 02, 2019 | 12:16 / Interesting information

The American company Gazelle, whose machines have taken more than 19 million used mobile phones in the United States, launched the first kiosks in the UK.

UK residents can already use 18 terminals. These machines are located in supermarkets and shopping centers in London and Midlands. In the future, Gazelle plans to significantly expand the network of terminals for the disposal of used mobile phones.

When you hand over your old phone, the British get instant payment, and they can also be sure that these phones will not end up in a landfill, but will be disposed of. The terminal determines the price of the phone itself, based on the model of the gadget, the amount of memory and cost in the secondary market.

In addition, the Gazelle terminal automatically determines the state of the phone using three positions, from “as new” to “not working”. After that, the machine prints a sticker that is designed to identify the gadget. It must be glued to the back of the phone, and then handed over to the terminal for further evaluation.
