New Microsoft application will allow blind people to view photos on a smartphone March 15, 2019 | 10:52 / Interesting information

Microsoft has released a new version of the Seeing AI application, which, using computer vision technology, will allow blind and visually impaired people to “view” photos on a smartphone or computer.

To run the application, the user must touch the image on the screen. The computer vision system recognizes image details and voices them through a speaker or headphones.

Since March 13, Seeing AI is available on devices with the iOS operating system, including on the iPad. The application is free and available for download in the App Store and Google Play.

Earlier, Microsoft introduced the VR-cane for the visually impaired and blind people. It will allow you to recreate the path from the entrance to the nearest park in virtual reality and train it to pass without being exposed to unnecessary stress.
