Facebook plans to create a device for reading thoughts March 15, 2019 | 10:00 / Interesting information

Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently gave a two-hour interview at Harvard University. In it, he spoke about the company's plans for the future: in particular, in matters of hardware.

According to Zuckerberg, the company is preparing a neural interface that will allow people to navigate and navigate in augmented and virtual reality with the power of thought. Simply put, this system should literally "read minds." The device itself is like a bathing cap with a set of electrodes and sensors. The system will analyze the electrical activity of the brain, as well as monitor the characteristics of blood flow in different areas of the user's head. The system will be synchronized with VR or AR glasses, as well as with smart devices.

In addition, Zuckerberg’s plans are to create a digital layer of the real world using augmented reality. By the principle of action, this is similar to the version of the Magic Leap, although it will be a little easier. This layer will allow the engineer to "see" the engine, without removing the skin. It will be enough just to send a smartphone or tablet camera with a specialized application to it.
So far, it has not been reported at what stage these developments are, therefore it is difficult to say when they will be released.
