LG G3 will be the company's first smartphone to reach 10 million units sold August 27, 2014 | 03:33 / Technological innovations

LG released its G3 flagship smartphone in late May, first in South Korea, and then gradually in other markets. The handset is now available almost everywhere around the world, and is on track to breaking the 10 million units sold mark.

According to The Korea Times, LG confirmed in a recent statement that the G3 “will exceed the 10 million sales mark” - becoming the company’s first smartphone to do so. While LG didn’t say when it expects the 10 million milestone to be reached, this will probably happen pretty soon.

The G3 helped LG ship a record 14.5 million smartphones in the second quarter of the year, and the company already unveiled two cheaper variants of it: the G3 s / Beat, and the G3 Stylus.

Introduced as the first Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) smartphone made by a major manufacturer, the LG G3 is a high-end device that offers plenty of attractive features, including a 13 MP rear camera with laser auto focus, a front-facing camera that lets you take selfies using gestures, a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, and 3 GB of RAM.
