Microsoft users began to receive warnings about unreliable news sites February 01, 2019 | 12:40 / Interesting information

US corporation Microsoft began to warn users of the mobile browser Edge about unreliable news sites. On January 23, the company, in collaboration with NewsGuard, added special alert features to the advanced Edge settings.

The Guardian reports that the mobile version of the browser now warns users that the website Daily Mail, Mail Online, "usually does not support the basic standards of accuracy and responsibility."

It is noted that it is still difficult for users to explain how useful the installation of the additional news protection feature is. For this reason, Microsoft has connected the Edge web browser with NewsGuard.

Earlier, on January 21, it became known that the WhatsApp messenger limited the ability to forward messages from 20 to five times. According to journalists BBC, this was done in order to combat the spread of false news.
