The next scientific seminar of Department No. 9 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. A presentation on “The role of data sanitization in ensuring children's safety on the Internet” was presented by the chief specialist of the Institute, Sabira Ocagverdieva. She noted that one of the problems that most experts are concerned about now is ensuring data security in an online environment.

According to the speaker, the essence of data sanitization (DS) is to prevent confidential, personal, non-recommended and other similar information from being provided to the general public or to apply certain restrictions. Sanitization eliminates sensitive information in the document, as a result, forms the level of classification of documents, cleans sensitive information, prevents harmful content, ensures data confidentiality, and also cleans memory devices, S. Ocagverdiyeva emphasized.

She noted that the DS has the following categories: sanitization of disks, registration, files, USB, folders and the term is also referred to as data deletion method, deletion algorithm, data cleansing and data erasure. 

S. Ocagverdiyeva gave information about the execution algorithms for DS. It has been acknowledged that the algorithm works on one and the same principle, and in the description and the number of transitions are different.

An exchange of views on the report took place,  questions were answered.
