ANAS uses Supercomputer technologies April 24, 2018 | 05:00 / Important events

Measures were taken to effectively utilize the opportunities of the National Grid Information Computing Center of the ANAS’s Institute of Physics and to increase the clusters, data storage systems included in the infrastructure of their information and computing centers, to harmonize all technical conditions with modern international standards.

The "National GRID" Information Computing Complex has been integrated into the GEANT network, with 8 high-end servers being provided to the center. In total, this segment, consisting of 160 computing cores, 640 GB of action and 7.2 TB hard memory, will enable employess of the Institute to carry out joint research with CERN and through the United Nations Nuclear Research Institute, Russia's International Research Center directly.

Also, it is planned to create II GRID Information Computing Complex at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS and AZ-IFAN GRID site at the  Institute of Physics for the physical and mathematical modeling of these two GRID infrastructures. These GRID infrastructures allow Azerbaijani scholars to use the computational resources of external GRID segments, access large-scale memory systems, and access software created across the globe. Employees of various institutes of ANAS will be able to carry out various complex calculations at the II GRID Information Computing Complex, which will be created at the Institute of Information Technology  of ANAS.
