AR-technology ProjectDR allows you to look under the skin, applying MRI and CT data directly to the patient's body, even if it is moving. The project was developed by Canadian scientists, graduates of the University of Alberta, Ian Watts and Michael West.

The creators themselves explain that the idea is to be able to show doctors about the patient's health in the context of his body. Project DR includes a projector for image overlay, motion tracker and infrared cameras. To accurately fix the picture on the patient's body, even during the movement, Watts and West had to develop a special program combining the work of all components.

After the final checks of the software and adding depth sensors to it, the first clinical trials will begin. In particular, ProjectDR will be used in surgical simulations, according to EurekAlert. Also, experts believe that the system can be useful in training beginner surgeons and manual therapists.
