International Press Center hosted the conference “New media and new challenges”, May 27, 2014. The goal of the conference was to discuss the “Development tendencies and Prospects of Internet media” and "Getting information from social media and effective use of information spread". 

Media Services and Internet media chiefs, representatives of the business sector on the Internet, new media specialists and experts attended the conference. 

The event jointly organized by the and the Multimedia Center was opened by the Chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov. He stressed out the conference relevance, and the rapid development of Internet media in the country. 

Head of Department of the Ministry of Communications and High Technology Isfandiyar Aliyev made a speech on ICT development in the country, orders and decrees , and talked about government programs, especially “National Strategy for the development of information society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2014-2020". 

The president of Azerbaijan Internet Forum and director of the Multimedia Center Osman Gunduz, highlighted the importance of the agenda and talked about the current development rate of the Internet media. The speaker pointed out the importance of the state support for the Internet media, prospects in this field. 

Chairman of the Commission for the Press Council Elnur Baimov, media expert Alasgar Mammadov, MediaForum Editor-in-Chief Ismayil Ismayilov, "APA Holding" President Vusala Mahirgizi and other media representatives participated in the discussions.
