The Problems of Internet of Things are investigated October 12, 2017 | 12:06 / Conferences, assemblies

Next scientific seminar of department №4 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. Senior research fellow of the institute, PhD in technical sciences Mammad Hashimov presented the report "The Internet of Things: Nature and Perspectives". He gave detailed information about the views on the Internet of Things. He said that the AI would mean that objects were identified in a uniform way and that they were virtual reflected in Internet-style structures. Cisco's technology analysts designate the IoT as a network of physical objects that can be accessed via the Internet.

Then M.Hashimov talked about the history of the creation and development of the IoT. He noted that in 1982, Coca-Cola Company developed an experiment and developed a vending machine that could connect to the network for the sale of its drinks. This first-ever world-class device has provided information about the status, the number and the temperature of the drinks boxes.

He gave detailed information about the standards used in the IoT. He stated that Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology for automatic identification of objects written or read by the radio transmitters stored on RFID chips. He also pointed out that the IoT had industry, health, transport and other areas of application.

The speaker also spoke about standardization, addressing and security issues in the IoT. He noted that, as in all other innovative areas, also in this field standardization issues have not been resolved yet. For its widespread expansion, first of all, standardization issues are required. Every item connected to the Internet must have a unique IP address. Successful operation of this network is not possible without addressing such issues as information security, personal information, protection of intellectual property rights.

According to International Data Corporation, global equipments, services, software and communications technology sales in the Internet in 2016 totaled $ 737 billion. In the coming years, the annual growth of the market will reach an average of 15.6 percent, and is expected to amount to 1.29 trillion in 2020.

Finally, the rapporteur talked about conferences and magazines published in the field of IoT. Then he presented the IoT's “Cisco” company's growth forecast, the Internet and cloud technology scheme, the names of companies and sensors in this area.

Discussions were held around the report, questions were answered.
