A team of researchers from the University of Buffalo has developed a new biometric tool that analyzes the dimensions of your heart to provide access to various devices.

The human body is full of unique biometric markers that can be used as a personalized access code. Earlier, in 2014, Nymi developed a heart-based biometric system that identifies the human electrocardiogram signal using a heart rate bracelet. Now researchers from the University of Buffalo have introduced a system that uses low-level Doppler radar to determine the unique shape and size of the human heart.

As the creators of the new system say, two people with the same hearts do not exist. In addition, this body does not change its form, unless, of course, a person suffers from serious heart failure.

The system takes eight seconds to record the unique geometry and rhythm of the human heart, and then it can continuously monitor the presence of a person nearby, providing continuous authentication without any contact with the body. During the experimental study with 78 subjects, the cardiac scanning system reached an accuracy of 98.61 percent.

Further development of the technology will include miniaturization of the device, increasing accuracy and range of operation. The current version of the system allows you to identify a person at a distance of 30 meters.
