Experts in the field of cyber threats from the company McAfee revealed the identity of the most dangerous character on the entire Internet. This is reported by the Associated Press.

The main villain was the Canadian singer Avril Lavigne, who did not release albums since 2013, but regularly delivers malicious content to the network on behalf of herself.

According to the results of the analysis conducted by McAfee specialists, it is in materials related to the name of the pop-punk singer that cybercriminals often place unsafe software. Avril Lavigne became the most malicious celebrity since the links that the search engine gives to users on request of its free MP3, with a probability of 22 percent will lead to a viral site. For a user who is not interested in recordings, but prefers flipping photos of the singer, the danger of catching the infection is reduced to 14.5 percent.

The list of the most toxic celebrities of the year also included singers Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber and Zane Malik, singers Celine Dion, Katy Perry, and Beyonce. Avril Lavigne is the first female musician to take first place in the annual McAfee top. Last year, the leader was the stand-comedian Amy Schumer, and in 2015 - the Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren.
