A system has been developed to record the reaction of the audience in the cinemas August 02, 2017 | 03:00 / Technological innovations

Disney has tested the recognition facial recognition technology called FVAEs (Factorized variational autoencoders).

The new system reacts to smiles, laughter, sighs and even a sad expression. The technology recognizes the basic emotions of viewers with the help of four special cameras with angle sensors, 360tv.ru reports.

Such control is necessary in order to understand whether people are experiencing the feelings that should be on the plot of the film. The project has already been tested in 150 cinemas during the rental of nine Disney paintings. Among them were Star Wars: Awakening Force and Zootopia. In total, cameras captured more than 16 million emotions.
