Report of the Department No. 17 for the first half of 2017 was discussed at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. Head of the sector, Rasim Mahmudov informed about the research work carried out on various aspects of the information society. He said that the department conducted research on the development of digital democracy mechanisms and the development of conceptual models for digital demography formation based on the multi-dimensional decision-making model on the development of mechanisms for the formation and effective management of e-government.

R. Mahmudov also talked about research on the scientific-theoretical problems of information society and Internet. According to him, the role and prospects of ICT in the integration of science and education in this direction, multidisciplinary scientific-theoretical problems of information security, the formation of the language industry as a segment of knowledge economy were studied.

The speaker also noted that scientific research is being carried out in the field of information war technology and the formation of new media.

Speaking about the work carried out within the scientific-innovation and practical activities of the department, R.Makhmudov noted that scientific support was provided to the "State Program for the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Information Society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2014-2017", promotion activities were carried out through mass media, information about our country in the global information space was  expanded, and measures were taken to develop online media.

The speaker said that the results of the research works carried out at the department in 2017 were published in a number of authoritative international and national scientific journals. R. Mahmudov also noted that during the reporting period the book "Basics of Wikipedia's Virtual Encyclopedia" was published.

He also informed about scientific-pedagogical and scientific-organizational activities of the department staff, the publication of scientific articles in the international and Republican conferences,  journals recommended by the AR Supreme Attestation Commission and promotion of scientific and practical results in mass media.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
