The semi annual report of the Department No 12 of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS was listened to. Preseenting the report head of department Medina Saidova, said that research has been carried out to investigate the application of bibliometric methods in the e-library environment and the formation of future generation of electronic libraries in the department this year. She noted that at the department also conducted research on the development of indexes for the evaluation of scientific journals and researchers, identifying perspectives of science on the basis of intellectual analysis of bibliometric data as well as modeling the impact of information on social networks.

M. Saidova informed about the work done in the field of scientific-innovation activity. In this direction, the Institute organized an interactive workshop called "Scientometrics Hour", she gave information about reference indexes and their comparative analysis in these seminars and identification problems in international scientific bases and registries, Web of Science and Scopus bases, scientific journal "Researchgate.net" Rules and so on. The reporter noted that the Scientometrics Sector was regularly supported by the staff of the institute on the use of these bases.

M.Saidova presented the report of the Electronic Library Center stressed that the work was done to classify books at the Center with the US Congress Library by classification system, physical development, access to resources, security and so on.

The head of the department said that on the direction of international cooperation the possibility of using information bases such as EBSCO, eIFL and others was made for institute’s asociates cooperation with Exlibris and Alephino Library Management System was improved.

M.Saidova spoke about the work done on the participation of department staff in scientific-technical conferences, publication of scientific articles in international and republican magazines recommended by AR Supreme Attestation Commission and etc.

Then academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS, academician Rasim Aliguliyev said that the study of the scientific-theoretical foundations of bibliometry and future generation e-libraries, as well as the study of international experience in these areas are important issues. The scientist recommended further deepening of research in this direction.
