Ultrasonic speaker lets you whisper to people 30 metres away May 15, 2017 | 03:00 / Technological innovations

British scientists have developed a device that allows you to transmit sound inaudible to others.

The Telepathy Project named its system, Asier Marzo, and his colleagues at the University of Bristol, who presented the development in the United States, where a conference on human-electronic interaction takes place. Something from telepathy in the device really is: it allows you to transmit a noiseless whisper to a distance, directly into the ears of the interlocutor. In the future, with the help of such an ultrasonic connection, soldiers can quietly talk to the enemy on the battlefield or communicate underwater divers, where ultrasound spreads better than through the air.

A pre-prepared machine learning system interprets muscle activity, transforming it into words-in the prototype of the system, the computer distinguished 10 teams ("yes", "no", "stop," "back," etc.) with an accuracy of more than 80 percent, naked-science.ru  reports.

Scientists say that if you add the usual function of recognizing the direction of view to the device, then a silent message can be sent even easier.
