On December 21 ANAS held a joint scientific session of the Collegium of AR Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic.

At the event, President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh delivered a report on "Science and Education: Problems and Prospects". Academician said that, one of the important directions of the reforms carried out in recent years in of ANAS is the integration of science and education. A number of institutions and organizations of the Academy have been created about 20 basic chairs of some higher education institutions signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of joint training.

Academician Akif Alizadeh said that, the most important achievement in the field of science and education integration is the creation of of ANAS training at the graduate level. Stressing that, students studying in the "Sabah" groups, have practical work at the scientific institutions of ANAS, President of Academy said that, for the formation of institutions of ANAS education departments also carried out relevant activities.

Academician Akif Alizadeh noted that, it is necessary to apply new, modern model of integration of science and education to improve the fruitfulness evolved over the years in ANAS scientific potential: "Our scientists should be actively involved in the learning process, go into the audience, and students must arrive at the laboratory in which are held scientific tests and experiments. Requirements for education should be reflected in research. A requirement of science should be formed among the younger generation".

Academician noted that, for students to transfer the latest knowledge in the field of high technologies, new effective mechanisms should be developed. Having said that, Academy has great scientific potential in this area, the head of of ANAS said that the doors of academic institutions conducting research in the field of high technology, nano-, bio-, info-, nuclear technology, is always open to both teachers and students institutions of higher education.

Academician Akif Alizadeh noted that, an important task in the field of scientific activity is to determine the priorities: "the important scientific problems were identified after the restoration of independence in the country, due to the socio-economic development, and calls for the modern world. Some of these problems are reflected in the National Strategy for the Advancement of Science, approved by the relevant order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. And other research priorities, which constitute the main directions of our future activities, we have identified in the draft Doctrine of science".

Said that, in recent years, thanks to the direct support of the state have been carried out important activities in the field of improvement of the legal framework of science, Academician Akif Alizadeh told on statement by President Ilham Aliyev on Law "On Science" an important step in this area. He noted that, one of the innovations reflected in the document is to provide undergraduates and doktorantamotsrochki military sluzhbypo initiative of the head of state. He has noted that one of the innovations reflected in the document is granting to undergraduates and doctoral candidates of a delay from military service at the initiative of the head of state. Having told that, one more important point is connected with accreditation of subjects of scientific activity; head of ANAS has added that now in this regard the corresponding mechanisms are developed.

Academician noted that, one of the main problems identified in the laws relating to the definition of "research university" status: "I believe that the research university is a very successful model of integration of science and education. Currently, ANAS has a special commission, whose task is to identify the requirements and standards to be met by research universities ".

Speaking about the popularization of science, Academician Akif Alizadeh has recommended to increase the focus of the scientific institutions of ANAS to the educational work, conduct open days to inform the public on the work performed, laboratories, instruments, scientific updates, obtained important achievements, implement appropriate measures to attract young people to science.

Noting that, for the solution of the problems existing in the sphere of integration of science and education in the country, the scientific and educational community must act systematically and vigorously, Academician Akif Alizadeh expressed his confidence in the fact that all efforts to perform tasks in the field will be merged .
