“International Science and Technology Conference” organized by Center for Strategic Studies was held in Ankara, Turkey, on October 3-6. The main purpose of the event are to analyze the current situation of the science and technology of participating countries and to discuss the expansion of cooperation between scientists.

Head of departments of the Institute of Information Technology, PhD, associate professor Firuddin Agayev and PhD, associate professor Alovsat Aliyev attended the event.

F. Agayev presented a report on subject «Cooperation in training information technology specialists field in Turkish world ". in recent years informatisation of society  has become strategic importance in t the development of civilization, he said.

According to him, in the 90s of the twentieth century diversification of ICT specialists’ activities has led to the emergence of areas such as information systems and networks, computer sciences, information technology, computer engineering, software engineering.

Training of highly skilled IT personnel, informatization of education, information-pedagogical technology is the development of IT-education system, he noted.

Associate professor Alovsat Aliyev delivered a report “Current status of modern science in Azerbaijan and strategic objectives of new economy based on science”. Referring to the development of ICT in post oil Azerbaijan, A. Aliyev gave brief information about activity sectors of organizations conducting scientific –technical activities, their types, statistical reports, products and services.

A road map to the formation of  new economy is underway, he noted. This reflected in  "Azerbaijan 2020: vision to future" Development Concept approved a few years ago. Great attention was paid to the development of ICT and new strategies and laws were adopted in the relevant fields.

There are approximately 150 scientific-research organizations in Azerbaijan. It is necessary to use efficiently scientific and technical potential of the country, especially, scientific results achieved at the National Academy of Sciences, he expressed.
