AzScienceNet Science Computer Network ensures Integration of Azerbaijan’s science to the world science and the performs function of national operator on education networks by providing scientific organizations and institutes of ANAS with internet services.

PhD, technical director of the Institute of Information Technology Rashid  Alakbarov informed about this.

He gave detailed information about opportunities of AzScienceNet, platform of E-science. The computing power of network has been  reached  to 15 TFlops , external memory capacity to 400 Tbayt, Internet connection speed to 1.41 Gbit.

Issues such as parallelization of cryptographic issues algorithms,  the numerical solution of optimal control systems for integral condition systems installed, detection of vectorial  movements of waves in Caspian Sea, detection of leak places in oil pipelines and etc. were carried out.

Institutes and organizations of  ANAS  have opportunities to benefit from Cloud Computing, Cloud Storage, Cluster computing, Hosting, Eduroam, IP Telephony, disturbed multiterminal information service, video conferencing, e-library, distant education, he emphasized. Azerbaijan National Eduroam Server located in AzScienceNet   performs National Operator function.

40 institute and organizations of academy connected to the AzScienceNet network via fiber-optic communication, scholar noted.

Rashid  Alakbarov  introduced Usage Policy in order to ensure  security of AzScienceNet network resources carried out in scientific institutes  of  Azerbaijan, R. Alakbarova noticed.
