As is known, in 2014, by the decision of the Presidium, Wiki-Center was established at the Institute of Information Technology with the purpose of protecting national interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan, detecting actual and potential sources of threat against our country, posting the contents, reflecting truth about Azerbaijan's history, culture and spiritual values on Wikipedia. In order to ensure the active participation of Azerbaijan scientists in Wiki projects, wiki-forums were formed at all institutes and organizations of ANAS.

Wiki-center, which conducts main activities of the research, tuition of theoretical-practical lessons on Wikipedia for scientists and experts in various fields, promoting this online-encyclopedia among citizens, and involving them in campaign relevant for interests of Azerbaijan, has launched the next training-courses dubbed “Theoretical and practical basis of Wikipedia encyclopedia” since September 21.

The employees of the institutions and organizations of ANAS are taught skills necessary to work via Wikipedia virtual encyclopedia and projects of wiki-driven technologies. 1-month courses provide lectures and workshops on problems, prospects and basic principles of Wikipedia, common rules for the creation of encyclopedic articles, their structuring, and monitoring, copyrights etc.

Note that, in closing, participants of the courses will be given certificates.
