Transliteration problems of Azerbaijani language graphic to other language graphics in virtual space are investigated at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

Senior research fellow of institute Sabina Mammadzadeh made a speech on subject Transliteration: current situation, problems and its solutions”. Development of a single transliteration standard  assumes a great deal of  importance for the correct spelling of name, surname and place names,for preventing  the spread of various variants in the internet, for eliminating misunderstandings, for making easier communication and increasing search relevance in the internet, she said.

Sabina Mammadzadeh gave detailed information about ISO standards on transliteration, different transliteration systems for Cyrillic alphabet and conversion systems. According to her, investigation of  national and  international  transliteration standards  is very essential for suggestion and  changing of new romanization tables and for arrangement converting  tables.

Then, transliteration causes a number of difficulties for Azerbaijanis living in other countries, especially for children and youth,  Academician-Secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology Academician Rasim Alguliyev noted. Solution of transliteration problems  in the virtual space is very necessary,he highlighted.  Benefiting from existing  international experience in this field  and development  of transliteration standards for  protecting national identity  are very important,  Rasim Alguliyev said.

In the end, there was an exchange of views on the subject, many questions were answered.
